Day 3 - Interlaken - Spiez - Kandersteg - Adenboden - Interlaken

Sunday 9th December dawned windy, rainy and cold and a trip to the "Top of Europe", the Jungfrau, was out of the question. A drive along the shores of Lake Thuner See and up into the next valley was decided apon. We stopped at Spiez, a lakeshore summer resort town, that inspite of the inclement weather, was very picturesque. Century old buildings intermingled with vineyards, boat anchorages, and ( closed ) restaurants, cafes and gift shops. Next the climb in driving rain into the mountains. Just before Kandersteg, all our hopes were answered, with the rain giving way to heavy snow. After snowball fights, warm gulwine, pastries, coffees and hot chocolates, we tripped to Adenboden, a classic Swiss ski resort town perched on both sides of a beautiful valley. More snowball fights, cold weather injuries and afflictions and some shopping, followed by a trip back to Interlaken. If that wasn't enough, Ally gets pizza at an Italian restaurant for dinner - could someone call DOCS, these kids are being mistreated!

Did you hear the Indian cricket team has a new wrist spinner like our Shane W.

His name is VJ Aa (pronounced Rrr) and I understand he can certainly spin a few big ones.
