Day 1 - Zurich Airport - Lucerne
Lucerne - the City, the Mountains, the Lake
This is our brand new Peugeot 407 - very nice - that's right, you should be jealous - even the mirrors fold in when the doors are locked ( really cool ) - Mum was wrong, it's not purple ( yay ). Our backpacker hostel in Lucerne - very nice large rooms with a view of the lake - nice comfy rocks for pillows - all you would want to sleep in.
Ally posing infront of her real family of porcupines in a chocolate stall in Lucerne's main street , we would have been forced to adopt them had the shop been open. Random fountain in the middle of the main street of Lucerne, it had some history which I have forgotten, but it looked pretty impressive. Classic Swiss town with century old buildings and cobble stone street - Main street which looks pretty nice with it all lit up. But it is also very cold.
This is one thing pictures can't capture. The view of Lake Lucerne over to the snow mountains - (where their are more in view than in whole of Australia (my claim) - This is definetly the best panarama view i have ever seen. - What the picture fails to show is the depth of the mountains. - This was taken in front of a monastery which was cool. The boats on Lake Lucerne - which I cant work out why they would use as it is freezing - maybe in summer.
Richard Wagner's ( some composer ) old home - very nice lookout on the LakeThe view of the city - The amount of permanent cranes in the city amaze me - because they are used heaps - They are even used in house hold construction - view also shows the city's many Cathedrals.
Random Stall of green stuff - mum says it is holly - in the markets on Saturday morning - in the main street.
