Day 7 - Bern - Freibourg - Titisee

After saying goodbye to Switzerland, the next stop was Freiburg in Germany. We spent some time in the city looking around, visiting Christmas markets before deciding to head off to a little village in the Black Forest rather than stay in the city. Note the border collie having a little swim in the fountain.

The city centre is very busy, you have to concentrate on not only cars and pedestrians but also trams in Freiburg.

Titisee is a lovely village in the Black Forest set around a lake. The Romantic Hotel is not where we stayed...but couldn't resist the photo, it looked so beautiful in the early evening with all the lights on and snow piles. Pretty shops in the main street. I think it was only about 3.30pm when we took a stroll around town after finding some where to stay, but it was already very dark and bitterly cold.

We had a lovely dinner at the Bergsee in Titisee, including fresh Trout from the lake. Hirsch was the local beer here. My favourite so far!

Crocs are pretty big over here but the holes in winter not so good. Buy some sheep skin linings and you can wear them all year round!!

Oops! I think I wrote the caption for this photo a bit earlier. Alexandra is not having any trouble at all finding meals to her liking. This night it was French Onion Soup and a bowl of chips.

Wald & See (Forest and Sea) - our home for three nights at Titisee. Lovely guest house run by Thomas, his wife and son Lawrence. Thomas spent a lot of time talking with us, still banging on our windows to tell us another story when we were heading out of the drive way after day four. Thomas was a great host and cooked an awesome breakfast with perfect soft boiled eggs.
